One possible cause of vehicle jerking - throttle body cable connector
This is the result of a consumer's experimentation with the possibility, if not the cause, of a vehicle jerking, and it has some merit. Assuming the video is true,
- If it's an older car, it's probably a good idea to replace the throttle body cable and connector with a new one,
- You'll want to make sure you don't get water in the connector when you wash the car,
- I'd make sure to downshift into neutral first if I had a hard launch.
However, in the video experiment, it looks like the RPMs can go up excessively if only the throttle body input is entered (in error), regardless of whether Excel is operated or not, which is a bit strange...
It works and makes sense for a certain range of compensation to avoid engine failure, but outside of a certain range it's dangerous, so it seems like the logic must be set up to handle it like an Excel input. If anyone is familiar with ECUs and such, please comment on this part.
